13) My spouse or other family members will not attend the group. What should I do?

First of all, you’re not alone. Don’t give up. It’s not uncommon for one parent to attend without other family members, but things can change. Lots of us felt reluctant about coming to a meeting dealing with this problem—but once we came, we were often surprised at our similarities. What is experienced in our parent support group is not what many might expect it to be. We are your friends and neighbors!

One of the easiest ways to get your other family members to attend is to invite them to a social event, such as one of the monthly ALOH Potlucks, and then attend the support meeting held afterwards. It’s a great dinner invitation!
