Andy Lessard

Andy Lessard left this world on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Andy was 24 years old and a sweet, beautiful, young man.  His family writes:

We cannot put into words our feelings of pain, loss and emptiness. Andy touched many lives and everyone who knew him loved and adored him. He had a kind heart and a loving soul. For the past several years Andy battled the diseases of depression, severe anxiety and addiction. He was clean for the past 18 months, attending community college in Austin and working hard to improve his life. We have talked openly about Andy's struggles for the last five years and we are not ashamed. As a society we need to talk more openly about mental illness and addiction so that we can make a difference and stop the tragic loss of young lives.

We will have a memorial service for our son this Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Chaplewood United Methodist Church in the Memorial area of Houston. We also are planning a second service in mid May in Santa Clarita CA, our home for 12 years.

100% of all donations on behalf of Andy Lessard will go to benefit A Light of Hope in its mission to provide a safe haven where young people and families can find support, hope, healing and freedom from addiction and self-destructive behaviors.
